Company History

Jonesboro Prosthetic & Orthotic Laboratory was founded in 1989 by David and Robin Yates of Jonesboro. David Yates was a longtime business manager, entrepreneur and experienced medical professional in the Durable Medical Equipment field. David and Robin were able to identify a need for a high quality, state of the art orthotic and prosthetic facility in Jonesboro, Arkansas. And so, JP&O began with a single practitioner and a receptionist nearly 20 years ago. Within the first month, David hired Les Merrick, who continues to be one of JP&O’s lead clinicians and our senior practitioner. David Yates retired in late 2007 and his son, Rob Yates, is our current President and CEO and remains one of our leading clinicians.

The need for a capstone O & P facility in Northeast Arkansas was evident and JP&O continues to grow. JP&O pioneered the idea of orthotic and prosthetic outreach clinics in underserved markets throughout Arkansas and Southern Missouri. Several of these outreach clinics we continue to serve today.

In February of 2000, our outreach clinic in Mountain Home, Arkansas grew to the point that a full service patient care facility was needed and we opened the doors of JP&O in Mountain Home. A third facility was added in Harrison, Arkansas in November of 2007, and our fourth and newest facility opened in Batesville, Arkansas in September of 2008.

We currently have 4 full service patient care facilities located in Jonesboro, Mountain Home, Harrison, and Batesville, Arkansas that serve as premier state of the art Orthotic and Prosthetic Facilities that truly represent the gold standard in O & P care.

We continue to serve as a Residency Site for the National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE). We are a second generation family owned company committed to the success of the thousands of patients we have served throughout Arkansas and Missouri.
